Earphones and Headphones has became Everyday Technology with the rise of Mobile devices, tablets. For even a Cell Phone, we use some form of Earphone now. And this fact demands a fully fresh article on Earphones and Headphones.

 

Basics of Earphones and Headphones

 

Headphones can be worn on or in the ears and more miniature is the Earphones. In the early days of radio, the broadcasting was heard through the headphones, but it was mono not like stereo sound today. The inventor of headphones still not been clearly established. Since the invention of the telephone and the radio, headphones-like devices were used.

 

Well Known manufacturers of headphones and Earphones include Apple, AKG, Beats Electronics, Bose Corporation, Klipsch, Koss, Philips, Pioneer, Revox, Sennheiser, Shure and Sony – to name a few. Earphones are most commonly used today.

Types of Earphones and HeadPhones

 

Earphone with Mic for mobiles are usually called head sets. However, they double-ups like only Earphones.

Intra-aural and in-ear Earphones: The earphones are introduced inside the ear canal. They are available in different materials such as of foam or silicone to make softer. In the professional field, the in-ear monitor is customized by the listener into an ear mold made of silicone or acrylic. This is custom made by audiologists. They are very comfortable to wear and safe to clean and durable, lightweight and provide the best isolation from ambient noise.
 

Earphones and Headphoneses

 

Earbud Earphones are earphones used on pinna. Some people perceive it as unpleasant. But they are compact and suitable for traveling.

Supra-aural headphones covers the ear, surrounding. Circumaural headphones encloses the ear completely, the headphone driver use over the entire outer ear, the anatomy of sound reflections. Both types of headphones are available depending on usage behavior, habits or preferences either as a closed or an open mussel system. To shield from disturbing ambient noise in a concentrated studio work a special version is used.

 

Technology of the speaker can be of Electromagnetic, Electrodynamic, Balanced Armature transducer, Electrostatic or Piezoelectric.
