In a previous guide we talked a basic way to build a remote shutter release control for the DSLR cameras and other digital cameras. In this article, we will talk about Photoduino. Photoduino is a shield and a software library to setup Arduino based DSLR camera controller. There is also schematics to develop it yourself. Unfortunately, developer has no longer support for the project. Here is official website and official Github repo of the project :

Photoduino Is A Arduino Based DSLR Camera Controller

Photoduino is DSLR camera controller based on the Arduino to automatically take pictures like for shooting high speed photos or use as intervalometer with the DSLR cameras from Nikon, Cannon, Sony etc manufacturers. Developer also has beautiful photographs as example of the project :

It is designed to be used with Arduino board as a shield for handling all inputs, outputs and other pins. It has all the needed components and connectors for connecting the camera, flashes and sensors with which you can control the shutter, autofocus, trigger two flashes. It has a sound sensor, an impact sensor and a laser or infrared barrier. It has two LCD screens with two buttons, so you do not need a computer during photography work. They have a list of compatible camera models with details of connectors :

It is practical to use some PCB manufacturing and PCB assembly service for getting the PCB with the components done :

It is really well documented good project by a single developer.
